EDBA Dissertation Defense – Ken Delgreco
You are invited to attend the public defense of an Executive Doctor of Business Administration dissertation on Friday, July 24th (9:00 am) in Raburn 104.
Ken Delgreco will present his work titled: Project Management Methodology Selection: Examining the Effects of Country-Specific Adaptation and Manager Prioritization on Model Performance. He will answer any questions the audience/committee has following the presentation.
Here is a brief summary of the work:
This study advances project management methodology selection by recalibrating and evaluating a fuzzy multi-criteria decision model originally developed by Kononenko and Lutsenko (2017) in Ukraine using a U.S.-based sample. The original model assists project managers in selecting appropriate traditional or agile methodologies based on contextual factors and empirically derived weighting coefficients. A structured survey of U.S. project management professionals and graduate business students (n = 36) was conducted to generate a new U.S. dataset for exploratory comparison with the original Ukrainian model. The results support the validity of the U.S. survey data and confirm the decision model’s sensitivity to cultural context. The study contributes a generalized, culturally adaptive version of the fuzzy decision model, enabling practitioners to apply the tool more accurately across diverse environments and supporting improved project success through evidence-based, context-aware decision frameworks. The revised selection tool is made available to project managers with instructions and examples for use, allowing practitioners to compare the fit of various project management methodologies using weights based on prior samples from the Ukraine and U.S. or custom weights based on specific priorities and project requirements.
