Submitting News Release Requests

It’s the start of a new semester, which is a great time to remind campus about the process of submitting a news release request.

Please allow for two weeks between when you submit your request and when your event is scheduled. News releases work best when they have a broad audiences and appeal for our external audiences.

As you submit the request, consider including as much detail as possible, including quotes or other relevant information. Once approved, the Office of Media and Public Relations will work through the request and provide a draft for your review and approval.

Speaking of approvals, the Vice President of your division is the entity to whom the request should be submitted. For instance, are you submitting on behalf of an academic department? Please select Academic Affairs from the drop-down menu. Is your item related to a student event? Please submit to Student Affairs.
