EDBA Dissertation Defense – Kim Harper

September 14 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

You are invited to attend the public defense of an Executive Doctor of Business Administration dissertation on Monday, September 14th (1:00 pm) in Raburn 109.

Kim Harper will present her work titled: Gig Talent as a Strategic Workforce Planning Strategy: Understanding Drivers of Adoption and Organizational Integration. She will answer any questions the audience/committee has following the presentation.

Here is a brief summary of the work:
This dissertation examines the strategic use of gig talent as a workforce planning strategy within organizations. Grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV), the research investigates both the factors that influence organizational adoption of gig talent and the practices needed to effectively integrate gig workers into the workforce. First, it examines organizational drivers of the decision to use gig talent and develops a practical framework for determining when and how to integrate and operationalize gig talent as a talent acquisition lever. The findings provide a more comprehensive understanding of gig talent as a deliberate workforce strategy for addressing evolving organizational and talent needs.

Dissertation Chair: Dr. Matt Oglesby
Dissertation Committee: Dr. Doug Barrett, Dr. Alisha Horky

Your support and presence are greatly appreciated as we celebrate this significant milestone.
