Campus-Wide Announcement: Welcome to the Aubrey and Annie Looney ROAR Access Center
Located in GUC 111
The University of North Alabama is proud to announce the transition of Disability Support Services (DSS) to the Aubrey and Annie Looney ROAR Access Center.
The ROAR Access Center reflects our expanded mission to provide comprehensive support and advocacy for our students. ROAR stands for:
• Resiliency
• Outreach
• Advocacy
• Resources
The Aubrey and Annie Looney ROAR Access Center serves as a centralized resource dedicated to helping students overcome barriers and achieve success by providing:
• Accessibility accommodations
• Veteran education benefits and support
• Student case management services
• The Jesse Christopher James ROAR Food and Basic Needs Pantry, providing food and essential items to students experiencing food insecurity or other basic needs challenges
While our name has changed, our commitment to serving students with compassion, excellence, and individualized support remains at the heart of everything we do.
We are also excited to welcome two outstanding new members to our team:
• Ms. Kate Hanbery
• Mr. Larry Taylor
Kate and Larry bring valuable experience, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to student success. We are thrilled to have them join the ROAR Access Center and look forward to the positive impact they will make on our campus community.
The Aubrey and Annie Looney ROAR Access Center is committed to ensuring every student has equitable access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Whether you are seeking accommodations, assistance with veteran education benefits, case management services, or support through the Jesse Christopher James ROAR Pantry, our team is here to help.
We invite the campus community to join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter and in welcoming our newest team members. Together, we will continue fostering a campus where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
